Death by Saguaro

For fans of the Finlay Donovan and Stephanie Plum series, a fast-paced mystery featuring a newly minted female PI who confronts the dangers of digging up secrets while navigating romance, Tucson’s summer heat, and her own need for speed.

When Marlo Logan is suspended from practicing law after exploding at a judge during trial, she seizes the opportunity to try her hand at a job she’s long dreamed of: private investigating. Determined to uncover the truth behind a hit-and-run crash that’s haunted her since high school, she doesn’t get far before she gets her first client—a teen charged with an only-in-Tucson crime of “murder by cactus.”

Marlo chases down leads, and she begins to field threats from all sides. Escalating dangers make it hard to tell friend from foe—but her determination outweighs her fear. With the help of sidekicks Angel, a mechanical whiz college student, and Angel’s huge biker boyfriend, Tank, Marlo uncovers the true story behind the years-old hit-and-run, as well as a web of deception that stretches far past the cactus killing—even as a devious PI nemesis tries to sabotage her efforts.

As the scorching monsoon summer unfolds, Marlo finds herself navigating her offbeat family, temptations big and small, tantalizing romances, surprising alliances, and unforeseen perils—but throughout it all, she keeps an unwavering focus on what matters most to her: discovering the truth with love and laughter along the way.
