In the Hollow

When Jane returns home to find her murdered mother alive and eating a snack, she enters a fractured Appalachian nightmare where grief, time, and murder collide.

Jane Harker was twelve years old when she made a promise to a monster. Thirteen years later, it’s come to collect.

After her mother’s death, Jane returns to August Point, the Appalachian mountain town she swore she’d never see again. The cabin is exactly as she remembers it. The woods behind it are not. People are dying. Faces from Jane’s childhood are appearing where they shouldn’t. And something she thought she destroyed long ago has returned from the woods beyond her mother’s property—a thing with no face, no name, and a debt it has waited thirteen years to collect.

As the boundary between realities begins to tear open, Jane is forced to confront a secret buried so deep she barely remembers it herself: when she was twelve years old, she made a promise to a monster. And the monster has finally come to collect. In the Hollow is a haunting Appalachian Gothic novel about grief, guilt, and the terrifying consequences of the mistakes we make when we’re too young to understand them.
