Better Than Grandma's (Expanded Edition)

Your grandma’s recipes have met their match.

Glazed donuts. Chocolate chip cookies. Yellow cake with chocolate frosting. Peach cobbler. New York–style cheesecake.

Trends come and go, but classics are forever. They’re the desserts that taste like holidays, Sunday mornings, and grandma’s kitchen. But grandma’s best recipes lived in her head: a pinch of this, a “you’ll know when it’s ready,” an oven only she understood. Try to recreate them and they never come out quite the way you remember.

Justin Ellen grew up baking with three grandmas: Nana, Grandma, and Glam-Ma. They taught him that the point of baking is to make people feel like a kid again. Now the creator of Everything Just Baked, a Netflix Is It Cake? alum, and a baker followed by millions, Justin has taken the classics they made and made them even better: richer, softer, more flavorful, and completely foolproof.

Inside Better Than Grandma’s you’ll find:

• 80+ from-scratch comfort desserts, from cookie-jar favorites to show-stoppers that will impress grandma herself
• A step-by-step video tutorial for every recipe, so you’re never baking alone
• Class in Session, a crash course in measuring, mixing, and baking like a pro that makes every recipe easier

A celebration of the women who shaped us and the joy of a full kitchen, Better Than Grandma’s is the perfect gift for the baker in your family, and for grandma, who might just ask you for the recipe.
