Buckle Up and Enjoy the Ride

Bill Carr has seen life's dead ends and detours—from his boyhood on the South Side of Chicago, to the jungles of Vietnam, to his years at the helm of the technology consulting firm he founded.

In this collection of essays, Bill reflects on his lifetime of experiences, sharing stories that are poignant, humorous, and insightful. Through it all, he relied on the strength of family and the relationships that carried him forward.

Bill explores a wide variety of themes: resilience, gratitude, forgiveness, leadership, the pursuit of peace. He has no easy answers or pat solutions. Instead, he asks readers to think about their own journeys. We can’t rewrite the past, he says, any more than we can control the future—and when we accept those truths, we gain the freedom to live for today.

Bill’s storytelling is honest and often witty, whether recounting triumphs or struggles. “Day by day, as we find our own way, the answers are within us,” he says. Life gets crazy. The ride can be rough—and Bill Carr’s reminds us to buckle up and enjoy the ride.
