The Last Pure Peace is a collection of essays and stories about fly fishing and its larger meaning by an award-winning writer. The majority of the included essays have as their central theme the healing, therapeutic, and mentoring aspects of fly fishing that so many people have recognized. This book is not to be perceived as “religious” in any traditional sense of the word— more accurately, the stories reflect the author Jody Martin’s conviction, and that of many others, that there is something unique about fly fishing, something powerful and otherworldly, that sets fly fishers apart while at the same time binding them together.
