I Wake to a Life in which the Beds Keep Moving

A sharp, witty and deeply moving poetry collection about love, loss and finding your way through a life that refuses to stand still.

In an ecstatic melding of personal experience with an amalgam of biblical, pop cultural, equine, medical, literary, historical, scientific references—in a narrative style that does not eschew screeching stops or abrupt right turns—Dana Roeser’s I Wake to a Life in Which the Beds Keep Moving gives us the story of a speaker as amused and bewildered participant on dating sites, grief-stricken partner after the loss of a long marriage, person of wavering mental health in the surreal environment of the pandemic, as well as the stories of a host of interwoven characters. Hers is an indelible voice that sees the humor and pathos in all of it.
