English Teachers: Eight English teachers. A literary tour of England. Ten days to live their best lives.

A warm, witty and life-affirming novel about eight English teachers whose literary tour of England brings unexpected friendship, romance and the courage to rewrite their own stories.

Wren has landed the gig of a lifetime leading the Literary Travel Co’s first tour of England, but returning to the London where she left her heart – and meeting their dashing literary guide – may distract her from her primary mission: keeping a busload of opinionated English teachers on track, on time and on speaking terms.

Coral has a deep, dark secret. Head of English at a prestigious ladies’ college and (ex-) Vice President of the Australian Chapter of the Jane Austen Guild, she’s made it to her sixties without ever setting foot in Bath – or even travelling overseas alone. Taking a break from her dull home life and determined to live on her own terms, she makes an unexpected reconnection that could change everything.

Taylor, only a few years into teaching, is questioning her career after a traumatic classroom incident. Will going full Kate Bush on the Yorkshire Moors with this group of strangers help her find herself again?

As the teachers wend their way around iconic literary locations, sharing secrets and squabbling over beloved texts, their lives will transform in ways that even Austen could never have imagined.

The English Teachers is a delightful, life-affirming celebration of the books we love and the people who teach us to love them.
