Black City

An epic cyberpunk fantasy/horror novel where a team of Surveyors navigates a dystopian landscape filled with monstrous creatures and systemic corruption, perfect for fans of Joe Hill, Joe Abercrombie, and Cyberpunk 2077.

The Black City was abandoned for a reason.

Centuries after the fall of America, the kingdom of Cincinnatus is ruled by an all-powerful Church, a merciless Inquisition, and the sacred word of Saint King Igor. Beyond its borders lie the ruins of Washington, DC—a poisoned metropolis where impossible creatures roam, and the influence of five dead gods still lingers.

Four young Surveyors are sent into those ruins in service to the kingdom: Jonathon hopes it will make the woman of his dreams finally share his love. Shelby sees an opportunity to find a better life. Tamara is determined to prove she belongs among the Company’s elite. And Emil, the privileged son of a powerful cardinal, is preparing to join the Inquisition.

But the Black City recognizes something inside each of them.

As the expedition descends beneath the shattered streets, buried forces begin reshaping their bodies, desires, and loyalties. What returns from the city may no longer be human—and the corruption they carry home could expose the monstrous truth beneath the kingdom’s holiest institutions.

Brutal, immersive, and darkly imaginative, Black City is a post-apocalyptic horror epic of ancient gods, religious tyranny, body-altering terror, and four people struggling to escape the roles a broken world has chosen for them.
