Starlight & the Flame

“At once achingly sweet and lavishly dark, Weymouth deftly weaves a tale of war, love, sacrifice, and devotion.” —H. M. Long, author of The Winter Sea series

The Priory of the Orange Tree meets Black Sun in the captivating conclusion of a political fantasy duology following four people as they attempt to bring peace to a continent shattered by war.

Three years after he was betrayed, former king Orden Inver lives in exile under an assumed identity within the army of his old enemy, King Afon of Caervallion. As Afon’s health deteriorates and succession fears mount, Orden quietly positions himself to seize power. Meanwhile, Ariana—living among the displaced Corrinians in the isolated nation of Skandara—struggles to preserve her people’s identity in exile while longing to return home.

Elsewhere, Fia, now Matria of Raea’s cloister, seeks to end the centuries-long war between Honoria and Vesper before a terminal illness claims her life. Her efforts repeatedly clash with the political realities facing Silas Inver, Honoria’s Regent, who is besieged by court intrigue, assassination attempts, and growing opposition from the powerful Hadrian Inver.
