Psyche

For fans of Lore Olympus and Mythos, a hilarious and heartfelt graphic novel retelling of Cupid and Psyche from New Yorker cartoonist Brooke Bourgeois and comedian Sullivan Brown.

Everyone knows the story. Psyche, a beautiful mortal woman, betrays her mysterious husband Cupid by doing the one thing he told her not to do—look at his face. Cue divine heartbreak, impossible trials, and a very jealous Aphrodite. Traditionally, it’s a tale about trust, devotion, and the power of true love.

But let’s be honest. It is a little suspicious to ask your wife never to look at you.

In this fresh, irreverent retelling, Psyche’s curiosity is not a flaw, Cupid has a lot to answer for, and Aphrodite’s divine confidence may be hiding some very human insecurity. Narrated by Cupid and Aphrodite themselves, Psyche turns an ancient love story into a witty, modern, and unexpectedly tender romp through romance, self-discovery, and the spectacular messiness of the gods.

Charming, funny, and full of mythological drama, this is Cupid and Psyche as you’ve never seen them before.
