Cursed by Fate

Harper returns to Black Mountain Academy to fulfill her ancestors’ prophecy in this sequel to the contemporary fantasy Bound by Fury that’s Legendborn meets Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

Harper risked everything to learn the truth of who she really is—a Zodiac Witch with magic from the stars. But she never expected the truth to include the ghosts of twelve furious witches, a secret society of bloodthirsty witch hunters, or a prophecy that names her the leader of four Cardinals destined to destroy the hunters for good.

Now back at Black Mountain Academy, Harper has one goal: convince the local coven to help her find the other Cardinals. The only problem? The prophecy foretold they’d need the help of a blood traitor, and she’s pretty sure it’s Kai, her ex–best friend turned worst enemy turned…it’s complicated. Her mission is further disrupted by the reappearance of the boy she swore she’d killed. Something is off about Kai’s cousin, Lucas, and it’s more than his terrifying syphon powers.

Muddling things further, someone wants Harper’s attention, and they’re leaving the mangled bodies of hunters as their calling card. And though this new player is unpredictable, Harper can’t help but be drawn in by their ruthless methods.

As the corpses pile up and a deadly encounter with a new creature pushes Harper and her friends to the limits of their abilities, Harper will have to decide what’s more important: fulfilling the prophecy that her ancestors sacrificed themselves for…or revenge.
