Where the River Runs

In this updated and expanded edition of her beloved 2014 book Wherever the River Runs, Kelly Minter invites readers on a journey that begins in the Amazon and becomes an invitation to rediscover the gospel—and the heart of Jesus.

What if following Jesus led you far beyond your comfort zone—and deeper into His heart than you ever imagined?

In this updated and expanded edition of Where the River Runs, bestselling Bible teacher and author Kelly Minter invites readers on an unforgettable journey into the heart of the Amazon rainforest. Traveling by river through remote villages, Kelly encounters breathtaking beauty, extreme hardship, and a people whose joy, resilience, and faith forever reshape her understanding of the gospel.

As she navigates waters filled with piranhas and caimans, worships alongside indigenous believers, and serves communities often overlooked by the world, Kelly discovers that Jesus is already at work in places many never see. Along the way, she confronts her own assumptions about comfort, success, generosity, and what it truly means to follow Christ.

More than a travel memoir, Where the River Runs is an invitation to rediscover a faith that is courageous, compassionate, and fully surrendered to God's purposes. With warmth, humor, and vulnerable honesty, Kelly challenges readers to move beyond complacent Christianity and embrace the adventure of living with open hands and an open heart.

Featuring new reflections and expanded content, this special edition invites both longtime fans and new readers to experience a story that continues to inspire a deeper love for Jesus, His Word, and the people He came to redeem.

Whether your journey takes you across the world or across the street, you'll discover that following Christ always leads to the places and the people closest to His heart.
