Study in Scarlet

Pick up the first Sherlock Holmes tale to trace the detective's early methods and the fateful case that forges his partnership with Dr. Watson.

If you're intrigued by Young Sherlock's origin angle, A Study in Scarlet offers the original Victorian murder investigation and the introduction of Holmes and Watson.

This novella alternates detective procedure in London with a dramatic backstory of revenge in the American West, giving a compact, plot-driven experience that clarifies why Holmes becomes the figure later reimagined on screen.

Its brisk pacing and focus on deduction make it a natural next read for viewers who want the canonical roots behind a younger, origin-story portrayal.
