Miss Demeanor: The Case of the Long Blonde Hair

She's thirteen, she's grieving, she has a forensic kit and her late mother's cameras, and she is not about to let anyone destroy what's left of her family.

Miss Demeanor — Book I

She just finished CSI camp. Her dad's new girlfriend is a con artist. This is not a coincidence.

Celia J. can't tell you her real name. She's thirteen, she's a private investigator, and she's currently the only thing standing between her dad and a very expensive mistake.

When her father starts dating a woman with a long blonde hair, a fake business address, and a smile that never quite reaches her eyes, Celia does what any self-respecting CSI Junior Tech would do. She opens a case file, dusts a wine glass for fingerprints, and starts asking questions. What she finds is bigger, and a lot more dangerous, than a stolen bicycle.

Armed with a magnifying glass, a forensic kit, and the kind of stubbornness that would impress Sherlock Holmes, Celia races to protect her dad before he hands over everything he has. But Karen is not alone, and Celia is thirteen years old and riding a bike.

The clock is ticking, and the bad guys just figured out she's onto them.

A laugh-out-loud mystery with real heart, perfect for fans of Flavia de Luce and the Sammy Keyes series.
