Gordy was the only pumpkin in the patch not perfect enough to decorate a porch.

And he’s not happy about it.
Not one little bit.

When colorful and lumpy Gordy is not chosen to line a perfect little house on a perfect neighborhood . . . he feels mad and bad and sad . . . all at once. These big feelings grow inside him until Gordy, too, starts to grow, bigger and bigger.

Gordy rips his roots from the ground and tears through town trying to get answers. It's not fair that he wasn't chosen when everyone else was.

This funny, touching story is for anyone who ever felt left out and for all the people who make us feel chosen.
