Call of the Empyrean

Beneath the glittering towers of Nyankoshi lies the Warrens, a slum where survival demands cruelty. Ekene has learned that lesson well. When he betrays his mentor to pull off a forbidden heist, his moment of victory turns catastrophic: Ekene manifests forbidden magic, power reserved for the Kindred – the god-descended rulers of the Empire. His mentor dies to save him, and Ekene is left hunted, guilty, and alone.

His long-lost father returns with a devastating truth: Ekene is saradomin, part of an ancient race who first wielded magic before it was stolen by the Kindre, an act now poisoning the world itself. As political conspiracies, criminal syndicates, and old vendettas collide, Ekene is drawn into a widening conflict fuelled by revenge and inherited hatred.

To survive, Ekene must master his power and confront the sins of his bloodline, or instead risk becoming another link in a cycle of violence that could tear the world apart.
